Q: How do I find out if my child will attend RES?

Q: What information is needed to register my child?

You will need the following information at the time of registration:
· Child’s birth certificate.
· Child’s Social Security card.
· Your child’s current immunization record.
· Proof of residency:
If you rent- bring your formal lease agreement.
If you own your home- proof of ownership, such as a copy of the current mortgage statement or deed.
If you are living with someone in the Riverview area and are not on a lease- You must contact our Residency Office, Mr. Ernest Miles, at 410-887-0855 and request a Multi-Family Disclosure Form. Upon approval of the multi-family process by Mr. Miles, we can then enroll your child.
· MD Transfer Form from previous school and child’s report card.

Q: How do I add money to my child’s lunch account?

Forms are available in the main office. If you do not have a form at home please write a note enclosed with the money to the Cafeteria Manager, indicating your child’s name, teacher, number of lunches, or cash account. Please make checks payable to RES Cafeteria.

Q: How do I call the nurse directly?

Please call 410-887-1442 to speak with the nurse or make a Wellness Center appointment.

Q: How should I send in prescription medication for my child?

Medication must not be sent with a child. It is requested that an adult always transport medications. Medications can only be given with written physician, or nurse practitioner instructions. Medications must be in marked prescription bottles from a pharmacist.

Q: Can I send cough drops to school with my child?

There is no need to send cough drops if you signed a Consent for Administration of Discretionary Medication Form. That form allows the nurse to dispense acetaminophen (Tylenol), throat lozenges, cough drops, antacid tablets (Tums), diphenhydramine (Benadryl).
If you have a need for your child to receive Advil, Motrin, or Ibuprofen, you must obtain a physician’s order for your child. (Please see previous answer regarding prescribed medication.)

Q: If my child was sent home from school ill, when may they return?

Generally, a child may return to school when they have been:
· Fever free for 24 hours.
· No vomiting for 24 hours.
· No need for medication to control fever for 24 hours.
· Have a physician’s note clearing the child to return to school.
